Fairyhill Winter Wedding | Natalie and James

Even though we photograph weddings all over South Wales and the rest of the UK, we absolutely love returning to the Oldwalls collection and especially Fairyhill.

Wedding photography at Fairyhill is a joy all year round with there being beautiful inside and outside options for your wedding ceremony, to accommodate for our unpredictable British weather.

We arrived early at the stunning mulberry house to start capturing Natalie’s bridal prep. Immediately after opening the door we were greeted with Natalies infectious laugh that everyone loves her for and is highlighted in pretty much every photo for the rest of the day. The guys were in full on wedding day mode, with bucks fizz flowing, music playing and everyone smiling from ear to ear. Not forgetting the croissants which Oliver very much enjoyed sampling (he loves his food so if you feed him extras he will love you even more!). The amazing makeup artist Charmaine Gorwill was already there ensuring the wedding day was running to schedule.

As an experienced Fairyhill wedding photographer we have had the pleasure of capturing bridal preps at many of the Rustic Retreats, with the mulberry house being one of our favourites due to its authenticity and spacious interior making it the perfect wedding accommodation for your fairyhill or oldwalls wedding. There is also ample parking and more importantly an outdoor hot tub and private terrace for you and your wedding party to enjoy.

This amazing couple wanted to remain super traditional on their wedding day and ensure James didn’t see Natalie until she walked down the aisle to say “I do“. James got ready at the contemporary Dairy accommodation that sits adjacent to Fairyhill, ensuring you won’t be late to the wedding. With all of the rustic retreats however, they are all only a matter of minutes away from fairyhill making it a dream as a popular fairyhill wedding photographer, as we can capture both partners preps without needing to book a second shooter.

Experienced Fairyhill Wedding Photographer

We were extremely lucky with the weather on the big day, allowing them to have a beautiful outdoor ceremony in the stunning gardens that encapsulate fairyhill. When Natalie arrived it became very emotional and overwhelming for their beautiful daughter and flowergirl Demi. But with a bit of encouragement she bravely and proudly walked down the aisle decorating it with petals as she went.

Following a very emotional yet beautiful wedding ceremony, it was time for Natalie and James to walk back up that aisle as Husband and Wife. Now the fun starts… IT’S CONFETTI TIME! Nothing quite says being a fairyhill wedding photographer better than running backwards through a tunnel of humans pelting you with dried flowers (We do genuinely love it!).

We then quickly whisked Natalie and James away for a walk around Fairyhill to get those stunning couple shots, making sure we utilise the stunning K-rooms architecture as a backdrop to their couple photos. Natalie had a huge veil! and that makes a creative wedding photographer very happy indeed. Just take a look down below to see what we managed to capture with this beautiful veil.

Candid wedding photography at Fairyhill

Natalie and James’s wedding day is a perfect example of what a candid wedding looks like, with so many fun personalities centred around Natalies beautiful smile and her iconic laugh which was mentioned quite a few times throughout the speeches. All of the wedding guests huddled on the stunning patio area to the side of fairyhill, where they shared drinks and laughs with one and other. Its always fun to hear those interesting stories whilst capturing those documentary, candid moments.

During the end of the wedding breakfast there was a big surprise in store for James, as Natalie had secretly booked the silver service wedding singers to get everyone up on their feet following their desserts. These wedding singers are always a huge treat to have at any wedding and they really do get everyone up and dancing dancing.

Before we said our goodbyes we had one more shot that we wanted to capture.
