Cardiff City Hall Wedding Photographer
Rhian and Tom’s Wedding at Cardiff City Hall Registry Office
The Venue – Cardiff City Hall
Cardiff City Hall Registry Office is a home away from home for us as a Cardiff Wedding Photographer. The grand architecture has been a major appeal to many wedding couples since 1806. Not forgetting the beautiful gardens that encapsulate the grandeur building.
Amongst the COVID-19 pandemic and the amazing news of Rhian’s pregnancy, the couple decided to opt for a micro wedding.
Arriving at the venue
We arrived at 11am to greet Tom who was anxiously waiting outside the entrance to Cardiff City Hall. The nerves were getting to Tom, so we gave him a helping hand to fix his lovely buttonhole flower by The Flower Chapter into place. The elegant white and green colour combination of the flowers definitely complimented Tom’s suit. Tom’s grandfather and father proudly greeted us outside Cardiff City Hall, with all generations rocking a pair of Rayban sunglasses. This was an opportunity I couldn’t miss out on! So with that we got the men together to capture some retro images of them all dressed up. Take a look below just to see how cool Roy was!
Being a Cardiff Wedding Photographer who grew up in the Welsh valleys, we really appreciate those family moments. We love capturing those candid moments where grandad is telling a bad joke or Nan having a dance with the grand kids. It is these moments that will help tell your wedding story after all.
In the blink of an eye it was 12pm and time for Tom and the wedding party to head inside and await the entrance of Tom’s beautiful bride Rhian.
Just as the remainder of the wedding party walked inside, Rhian walked around the corner in a stunning dress with her father. I had the privilege of capturing them having a moment together before her father walked her down the aisle to get married.
We love Cardiff City Hall, the lovely bay windows allow for some stunning soft light on the wedding couples faces as they get married. The people who work at Cardiff City Hall are so nice and accommodating of everyone, it really is a pleasure to photograph there.
Those important words “I do” and the sealing of a kiss welcomed the new Mr and Mrs Roberts. The beautiful arch way outside Cardiff City Hall is the perfect confetti/cheering exit. So with a quick arranging of guests, thats exactly what we did.
Micro weddings are different in terms of how we photograph, with more crammed into a smaller space of time. However, Rhian and Tom were amazing walking through Cathays Park and Law Courts for some beautiful couple portraits. Rhian did exceptionally well being 7 months pregnant at the time. We take extra measures to ensure safety of everyone, with plenty of breaks and not too much time in direct sunlight.
It was an absolute pleasure photographing Rhian and Tom’s Cardiff City Hall Micro Wedding. We look forward to meeting them again for their anniversary celebrations in 2022.
