You may have already posted on Facebook “Recommendations for a local wedding photographer” with 100+ recommendations in the first 10 minutes of posting and immediately feeling overwhelmed. We have compiled a list of the top ten questions to ask your wedding photographer, that we believe will ensure you get everything you want for your wedding day.

How much does a wedding photographer cost?

You may have already looked at some wedding photography packages and asked the question “Why are wedding photographers so expensive?” or “How much do wedding photographers cost?” We believe this is one of the most important questions when looking for your wedding photographer as you don’t want to become disappointed when you set your heart on your dream wedding photographer to find out they are beyond your set budget.

As an experienced South Wales Wedding Photographer we believe it is vital that you begin your wedding planning journey by setting a budget for your entire wedding along with a contingency budget of 10%. If you are struggling to set a budget and know what to include init then please feel free to take a look at our wedding budgeting guide for more info.

An experienced wedding photographer will cost in the region of 5-10% of your overall budget for your wedding with the national average wedding photographer cost being £1550 for all day coverage. This isn’t to say that you won’t be able to find a wedding photographer for cheaper or more expensive than the national average as each will offer something different that may be more suited to you.

We try and meet the national average but also include a lot more with each of our packages including a printed product being either fine art prints in our keepsake collection or a prestigious album in out complete collection. What packages do you offer?

Although we offer awesome wedding photography and you may have already fallen in love with our style it is important to establish what you are looking for in terms of product. Are you someone who isn’t overly fussed about having a wedding album and are quite happy with a few nice photos and a memory stick? or are you set on having you wedding photographs in a prestigious wedding album that distracts you from social media and lets you step back into your wedding day?

We try and cater for every type of couple in regards to our wedding products and have created two unique packages that suit both of the above couples. Feel free to take a closer look at our wedding packages by clicking the button below.

However the customisability is limitless with you being able to add additional albums, canvases, prints and so much more onto your package. All of this is best discussed in a consultation with us where we can create you a customised packages that caters to you.

How long will your photograph for?

This is a very important question that wedding couples should ask when choosing their wedding photographer. Just like the variety of styles and packages different photographers offer, we also diversify in what timelines we work to on a wedding day.

Some photographers work on strict time schedules such as working for only 8 hours on your wedding day with additional hours being either at the photographers discretion and/or at an increased cost due to more of your wedding day being captured.

If you have taken a look at our pricing you will know that we don’t set time limits on your wedding day. We can watch Coronation Street on catchup so theres no stress about missing out on what has happened in the Rovers.

Instead we take the evenings as an opportunity to become even more creative and party the night away with your wedding guests.

How many photographs will we get?

You may have spotted a little bit of a theme but just like packages, style, coverage, wedding photographers typically either offer limited or unlimited wedding photos. Some will say 500 photos and any more will require an additional fee, so this is really important to establish when having a meeting with your photographer because if you expect 700+ images then this may be a deciding factor for you.

We offer a blend of the two options above, with all of our packages having a minimum of 400 edited images delivered to our couples. However, we do tend to remain below a 1000 edited images for the following reason. When scrolling through your wedding photos we want you to be wowed and have an emotional attachment with every photo. We don’t want you getting bored of seeing a flip-book sketch of uncle bob drinking a pint of Stella Artois (other brands are available). When editing your wedding photographs we ensure that everyone is included in your wedding gallery and that you do not miss out on any moment throughout your big day.

Below is a quick snapshot of what your wedding gallery from us will look like!
