A luxury hotel in Pembrokeshire the Grove of Narberth Hotel provides the perfect setting for a picturesque wedding day. Set in beautiful gardens and only a 10 minute drive away from the famous Pembrokeshire Coastal National Park, the Grove of Narberth is a creative wedding photographers dream.

Bridal Prep

We started the day by arriving at Felicity and Elgan’s house, where Felicity had began her bridal prep. Walking into her home, it was evident that lockdown gave them the D.I.Y buzz, with every room looking like a Pinterest masterpiece. Beautifully rich royal colours were used as accent walls in almost every room, with Felicity personalising each room to the smallest of details. This made the perfect canvas to capture all of her details and the emotions shared between Felicity and her close family/friends. We were immediately greeted by Felicity and her mother who was so welcoming and made Oliver a cup of tea as soon as we got through the door. It was a fantastic cup of tea at that too!

As with every wedding, we asked Felicity to prep a box of all her important details for us to capture when we arrived. Felicity had done an amazing job of getting everything together and made our lives so simple when capturing all of these important details of her wedding day. That perfume bottle made the perfect centrepiece to capture some creative shots of the couples wedding rings. We also utilised the stunning interior as a contrast to capture Felicity’s gorgeous wedding dress by Rowberry Bridal, its amazing what a creative photographer can do in a small space.

The very talented Jade Mathews was on hand doing Felicity’s makeup and being so cooperative, which allowed us to capture some lovely documentary shots of Felicity as she was getting ready for the day ahead. Felicity’s younger brother turned up just as Felicity had gone upstairs to put on her dress. This was the perfect opportunity to capture Felicity’s brother and nephews reaction in her wedding dress and what an emotional reaction it was. She looked absolutely stunning with her gorgeous flowers by Blossom to Bloom complimenting that stunning lace dress.

The Ceremony

With a quick dash up the road we met up with Elgan at St Michaels Church and All Angels. Most of our couples tend to not opt for a second shooter as 9 times out of 10 we say to our couples there is no real need for them, however they do come in handy at bigger weddings. Take a look at why you may need a second shooter Do I need a Second Shooter?

Elgan was dressed very smartly in his black suit by Dyffed Menswear, we captured some great groom prep shots of him outside the St Michaels of All Angels church. The gorgeous architecture of St Michaels Church was breath taking and made the perfect setting for this amazing couples wedding ceremony.

Felicity arrived in a very classy, white Bentley Continental and was walked down the aisle by her brother who was very proud to be giving her away. Following a beautiful service, with some cheeky smiles shared between the couple, it was time for the confetti shot! This is an image we love capturing as it gets the whole wedding party involved in a very fun part of the day.

Group Shots! a traditional part to any wedding day that can be a headache for wedding photographers, with uncle Bob running to the bar and Auntie Maureen on the bouncy castle. However, Felicity and Elgan had organised a “loud member” of the wedding party to help organise the group shots outside the church and they were all done in 10 minutes!!! we love it when a plan comes together.

A quick detour

The couple decided to make a slight detour to the beautiful Burry Port for some couple shots, to which both us and Gareth Croft Films nodded in excitement. The lighthouse in conjunction with a perfectly mastered lean pose, made for one of the show stopper images from the big day. However, it was the documentary styled photo of the couple walking back from the beach with the locals riding their bikes that we really loved!

Reception

We all then headed over to the Grove of Narberth hotel for the couples wedding reception. This luxurious wedding venue definitely matched this very classy wedding couple, that gorgeous dress and tailored suit was made for a venue like the Grove. August is always the perfect time of year for a sunset and this day was no exception, the couple danced and looked over their stunning wedding venue as the sunset. Those dreamy colours were a photographers dream to shoot in, we truly couldn’t have asked for a better end to a brilliant day.

Kind Words

“Thank you so much. We can’t stop looking at them! They’re fantastic. Thank you to you both for being there and making is do special for us. Felicity and Elgan 🙂 x “
