As a popular Swansea Wedding Photographer, we often find ourselves in the Gower capturing our awesome couples Swansea wedding days and Oxwitch bay is no exception..

Oxwitch Bay is one of the Gowers most finest beaches and the perfect setting for a summer wedding day. There is plenty wedding photography opportunities at Oxwitch bay hotel, with beautiful forestry, a golden beach and breath taking sand-dunes making for absolutely jaw dropping wedding photos.

Bethan and Lewis had booked us to capture their Oxwitch Bay Hotel late 2021 after finding out about us through a member of word of mouth. They were blown away by our images on our website and knew we were the photographers for them.

Bridal Prep

We arrived at Oxwitch Bay Hotel in the early morning to capture Bethan’s bridal prep. The sun was beaming down on this beautiful Gower Wedding venue, which we were ecstatic about due to a guaranteed show stopping sunset for the evening.

Bethan bridal prep was definitely in full swing when we arrived, with champagne bottles flowing between glassed, laughter all around (especially from bridesmaid Lucy) and lots of great memories being shared. As with all bridal preps, we started with capturing those all important details which we ask our brides to organise ahead of the big day. We are huge fans of flatlay’s of all your details as this shows those important touches which made your day unique to you.

From then it was candids, candids, candids! Did we mention candids? Those off the cuff moments that are so important to capture as it is those parts of the day that you may or may not remember happening and is why booking a Swansea Wedding Photographer is so important.

Groom Prep

Lewis’s groom prep took place only a stone’s throw away in one of Oxwich Bay Hotel’s cottages. The Ivy cottage provided the perfect, rustic backdrop for those masculine groom prep photos along with again, those candid (banterous) moments shared between the groomsmen.

It was a privilege being able to capture precious moments shared between Lewis and his grandad on the morning of his wedding. Capturing these candid moments is what makes wedding photography so rewarding.

Oxwich Bay Hotel Wedding Ceremony

The couples ceremony took place in the rustically beautiful chestnut room surrounded by all of their closest friends and family. Bethan was smiling from ear-to-ear throughout the whole ceremony.

Then it was time for the awesome confetti shot that the couple thoroughly enjoyed getting absolutely covered in the floral confetti as they walked through a tunnel of guests.

Oxwich Bay Hotel Wedding Reception

The wedding reception took place in the charming marquee that looked out over Oxwich Bay. What the couple didn’t know however, is that Bethan’s father had organised surprise singing waiters. These are always such an awesome moment at weddings and definitely gets everyone up on their feet after a carb rich three course meal.

As the suns set over the beach, we took the couple for their final wedding couple photos of the day. Although hesitant Bethan let go of her dress on the beach for us to capture a breath taking reflection shot of the couple. Take a look below to see the final result. On the way back to the hotel we took a quick stop off at the sand dunes, which made for some truly epic wedding photographs.

We then finished off the evening with fun group shots, sparkler exit and the wedding disco!

Both of them are very professional and made us feel relaxed and reassured the morning of our Wedding, especially when we were all getting ready in the bridal party which was really hectic and busy!
